Local art exhibition comes to The Spire Hotel

The Spire Hotel was recently lucky enough to play host to a beautiful art exhibition from the talented Briar Rose Laurie, featuring stunning pieces celebrating native New Zealand bird life and other unique creatures! The Spire Boardroom was adorned with her work as avid fans, friends and family, and passers-by were able to meander through and take in her expression and skill. All works were available for sale and some went home to some delighted buyers.

Briar is a third-generation artist and the niece of renowned New Zealand impressionist artist, Mark Thomas. Briar has been exhibiting publicly since 2003, and privately since 2007, during which time she has won numerous painting awards, including The Viewer’s Choice Award in the Queenstown Art Exhibition called ‘Light and Life’. She has also won the “Up and Coming Artist” Award twice at the Arrowtown Autumn Arts Festival. Briar is available for commissioned work, and has many pieces available for sale on her website.
